The island of Tjörn, culture and nature with Malin
Welcome to our wonderful farm on the island of Tjörn! Here you will really understand what the word ‘silence’ means, what it is like to live on a small archipelago farm and experience its everyday life. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for the weather and join us in an outdoor activity. It could be anything from building a gate, fencing a paddock, looking after the animals on the farm, renovating a collapsed stone wall or revealing an overgrown glade. I offer tasty fika, maybe it will be eggy cheese or a light lunch, and I’ll tell some stories about our beautiful island. At the end of the day I hope you leave with fantastic memories of a Swedish farm located in, what I think, is Sweden's most beautiful valley
About Your Host, Malin
My name is Malin and I live with my husband Klas in a valley on the southern part of the island of Tjörn. I've had an exciting life so far; Lived in the USA for a year, travelled a lot, worked as a journalist for twelve years and then as a teacher, switched to gardening and have now worked for 20 years in my own garden company. I have two children, my husband has four, and so far we have been blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren. For a few years now I have been an authorised guide for the whole of Bohuslän. I am really passionate about nature and culture and would like to share all the knowledge I have about our fantastic area.
On our farm we have some chickens, cats, and ewes and if there is time, I try to grow a few vegetables. We also have accommodation for guests via Bo på Lantgård (Farmstay Sweden). We have already received guests from all over the world and they really appreciate the tranquillity of our small valley.
It is important to me to have as much time as possible at home on the farm, working on construction and cultivation projects. Our goal is to manage this beautiful little plot on earth in a sustainable way for posterity.
Warm welcome!
Yours, Malin

Tips from Locals
Malin’s three tips for things to see and do when you visit Tjörn and the surrounding area:
- Take the ferry to Dyrön and hike the trail that circles the island. Top it off with a sauna and a dip in the sea. All year round.
- Visit the Nordic Watercolour Museum and enjoy art in a beautiful coastal setting.
- Visit Sundsby Säteri and meet Margareta Huitfeldt, in her time one of Sweden’s most powerful women. Take a trip up to Solklinten (The Sun Cliff), or one of the other trails, and finish with a delicious lunch or coffee in historic surroundings.

Reviews
Malin was such a warm and friendly host. She showed us her farm and animals, explained us about the island and Bohuslän. and we sat in the garden and had a delicous snack. And at the end she offered us to stay with our campervan on her around for the night. The next morning we left with excellent Tipps for the ongoing journey and a great experience. Thank you again, Malin and Claas!!! Miriam Miriam
