Hiking: Larseredsrundan hiking trail + Jämmerberget (8 km)
– with Citypolarna
West of Hisings Kärra is one of Gothenburg’s newest hiking trails! A lap on the Larseredsrundan is approx. 3.5 km and was created only a couple of years ago, it is a little inaccessible by public transport but then you can see Jämmerberget on the transport route there.
Gather at Kärra Centrum bus stop 12:25 (plan your route: https://www.vasttrafik.se/en/ ). Car parking is right next door, at ICA. 57°47’38.2″N 11°59’25.2″E – Google Maps
We stroll west through Kärra Centrum’s shopping street before we come up to Jämmerberget where there is a cairn of stones. Then down towards Larsered and away to the loop. It is easy ground up to the loop, then it gets tougher with stones, mud and roots. There will be a coffee break at a viewpoint. Along the loop there is also a ravine (although we won’t go through it all 🙂 ) and St Göran’s grave. The transport distance back will not be exactly the same as the way out, but shorter.
We should be done in three hours, and the buses back leave once every quarter.
Hope we get good weather and become a big group!
At the moment the Citypolarna website is only in Swedish so you will need to use a translation app in your web browser.
