On the path to self-sufficient living

  • Hällevadsholm
My name is Christopher, and I live with my wife Kerstin and our two daughters on a smallholding in the Bohuslän countryside, where we are working towards becoming as self-sufficient as possible. Life here involves growing vegetables, keeping bees, chopping firewood, working on the house and land, tinkering with cars and caravans, carpentry, crafts, spending time with friends, and much more.

About Your Host, Christopher

I have lived in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden and have done all sorts of jobs over the years. I have now found my place in the world here, just outside Hällevadsholm in Bohuslän. My goal is to become as self-sufficient as possible—not only by growing food and keeping bees, but by building, repairing, and making things myself. There is always another project underway around the smallholding, from working on vintage cars to improving the house and land.

Who this is for

This experience is for anyone curious about life in the Swedish countryside and interested in meeting the people who live there. I hope that what we are doing here might inspire others, and I enjoy exchanging ideas with people from different countries and backgrounds. Having lived in several countries and had many different experiences, I am open to different perspectives and enjoy meeting people from around the world. Visitors arriving by caravan or motorhome are also very welcome, as we have plenty of space.

When?

I am usually available at weekends and on summer afternoons.

Where?
