Fika! Hiking! Swimming!
I moved to West Sweden from Scotland in 2011 and now live just outside Alingsås – Sweden’s capital of fika. Apart from being a very cute small town it is littered with great cafés, so meeting up for a traditional coffee, cake and chat seems like an obvious thing to do.
If you feel like something more energetic we could out of town and go for a walk to one of the local sites of interest, make coffee on the trail or visit a countryside café that specialises in waffles. I’m often in Gothenburg too, so if you really just want to prop up a bar somewhere and get a few tips for the rest of your trip we could do that and sample some of Gothenburg’s locally made beers at he same time.
Let’s see what works on the day you want to meet and what we feel like doing. It’s an opportunity for you to get to know West Sweden a little better and if you need help with planning some places to visit, I’ve been all over the region and should be able to help.
