A family farm for fika and fresh apple juice
I’ve taken over Ekebo, our centuries old family farm, situated on the island of Kållandsö near Läckö Castle. Some of the buildings here date back to the 1700s, and I’m proud to be the seventh generation working this land. My husband and I run an organic farm and cottage hire. The farm has an apple orchard with 120 trees and if you visit in September or October you’re welcome to help us make apple juice in the old wagon shed. And of course you can take the apple juice home with you! If you visit during summer we can enjoy a fika and nice chat in the garden. A visit here will last around 2 hours.
About Your Host, Sara
I’m a cheerful and inquisitive young mother who’s really interested in cultural history. That’s probably why I became a heritage conservation officer, which works well now I have taken over the family farm, which is also a listed building. I like growing our own food so I spend some time doing that and we have extended the vegetable garden which will eventually make way for a greenhouse.

We had a delightful afternoon with Sara and her family this afternoon. We loved her farm, filled with history and interesting tidbits. The animals were a fun addition and of course all the apple festivities was a plus. Would highly recommend. Melissa

Sara and Niklas were such kind and wonderful hosts! We signed up for apple picking and apple juicing but we were in for such a great surprise when they showed us and told us the long history of their house and farm. We learned so much from them and of course enjoyed the apple picking and juicing! Sara also made a really delicious apple pie and we had fika at the end. My friends and I had so much fun during our experience. Dianne
