Forest Bathing, Yoga and Breath-walk
Breath-walk. We will use different breathing techniques as we walk, in order to achieve a calm, deeper presence and awareness, to find inner strength and replenish with new energy. Each session begins with gentle yoga movements and deep breathing to soften the body and awaken our senses. Then the Breath-walk begins; a walk in silence with various breathing techniques in time with each step, and pressing fingertips together while repeating a mantra silently to yourself. This enables you to strengthen your focus and influence your cognitive abilities. We will stop along the way to do different yoga exercises to balance our bodies and energy flow. We finish with stretches and meditation. We walk for about 4km through rolling forest and historic countryside. If you like, after the session, we can share our experiences. The workout has several positive effects, including fitness, circulation, hormone balance, heart rhythm, lung capacity and emotional balance. During the summer, after the session, if you would like to join me, we can take a refreshing dip in Lilla Sjö (the Small Lake), which lies a few kilometres further on.
About Your Host, Elisabeth
Hello, my name is Elisabeth and for about a year I am a happy, lively pensioner with a lot of different interests. I’m interested in different types of art and have taken up ceramics and painting. I love pretty much all types of music. Nature, culture and history also keep me fascinated. For years I have arranged yoga courses and retreats, which I have found very rewarding. But the most fun and excitement comes from meeting new people! Originally a Stockholm girl, in my working life I have, among other things, been self-employed in the hotel and restaurant industry in Värmland, the region north of West Sweden. When I moved to Gothenburg with my husband I worked as a conversational therapist. Now I would like to wish you a warm welcome to a beautiful, relaxing moment in picturesque, historic surroundings far away from stress and pressure.
Who this is for
This is something for those who would like to make an investment in themselves, are curious, and would like some respite from everyday stresses and pressures. If you’d like to get out into nature and learn a breathing technique that you can use every day. You don’t need any previous knowledge of yoga or meditation, just comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather. The walk is about 4km long and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Bear in mind that the forest terrain is hilly and there is one steep hill to cross.
Sundays from 18:00 until about 20:00. Must pre-book. The session will be cancelled in the event of rain.
BY CAR from Gothenburg, take route 40 towards Borås and turn off at exit 78 towards Skene on route 156. After about 17 km turn left at the intersection for Hyssna. The Old Church is 300m on the left. BY BUS, take the 300 bus from Åkareplatsen to ‘Hyssna Handel’, normally about 50 minutes and about 20 minutes to walk to Hyssna Old Church. I will meet you at the church.
