Coffee with Gunilla in the The Capital of Fika
Join me for a walk around the cosy café city Alingsås. Let’s talk about what’s current today and I can tell you more about the Swedish fika tradition and why I believe it is so important. In these turbulent times everyone around the world should sit down for a coffee and democratic chat. Because fika is about democracy – both today and historically. We can decide the café together, depending on what we feel like. Every café has its own niche and I know every café in Alingsås.
About Your Host, Gunilla
Swedish fika culture is essentially a matter of freedom and democracy, which are dear to my heart. Through my work at West Sweden Tourist Board, I’ve had the privilege of becoming a Fika Geek and therefore have been able to discover the insight into the foundation and essence of fika. So I like talking about and experiencing other people’s views of the world and the life we live. Put quite simply I love cultural experiences. I practice yoga every day, I love music and ride motorcycles. So if you want to experience a Swedish fika and have a democratic conversation about anything under the sun, you will receive a warm welcome in Alingsås, the Fika Capital, and meet with me..
